Archery
Don’t wobble! Archery is all about holding blobo as steady as possible and keeping your eye on the target – wait for the arrows to start flying!
Squeeze blobo to load the string of the bow. Keep blobo as still as you can. A laser pointer will highlight where you are aiming on the target. The stiller you are, the closer to the bull of the target the laser pointer will be in the game. Once you are happy that the pointer is on target, release the squeeze to shoot. Note: there is a timer at the bottom of the screen which counts down the time you have left to take your shot.
Basketball
Test your hand-eye coordination with Basketball - it takes skill and timing to shoot those hoops!!
Throw blobo straight up in the air and catch it. The height of your throw defines the height of your throw in the game. Too low and you will miss the basket – too high and the ball will soar over the basket. Spin on the ball will also effect your shot. You can dribble the basketball by shaking blobo.
Bowling
Excitement strikes every time with Bowling! Up to 3 of you can play at the same time as long as you have your own blobos so let the fun begin!
To set your position: Hold blobo so that the charger plug hole is facing up. Your avatar will be on the right hand side of the lane. To move from side to side, gently rotate blobo clockwise and counterclockwise. Once you are happy with your position, lock the position by applying and maintaining a light squeeze to blobo. You are then free to move your hand to bowl.
Bowling: Mimic a normal bowling action. Move blobo backwards and forwards in one continuous movement, the speed of which will determine the speed of the bowling and release the squeeze to release the bowling ball. Moving blobo to the right or left during the throw results in blobo going in different directions. At the end of the throw add spin by doing a curve-like motion. Note: because all characters are right-handed, spin can be added only to the left.
Karate
Calling all Grasshoppers - see how fast and hard you can smash down through the blocks with your Karate chop – hi-ya!
Wait for the blocks to appear in front of your avatar. When the traffic light turns to green, hold blobo in your hand and swing it down as hard and as fast as you can. Be careful - if you take your hand up too high and swing blobo behind your head, the game might think that you have started your karate chop!
Long Jump
Let’s see who can run fastest and jump highest! The clever technology in blobo will then work out how far your avatar flies through the air to land in the sandpit.
Put blobo in your pocket. Run as you do in the running game, then, when indicated by the instructions on the screen, stop running and jump up as high as you can on the spot.
Running
Why run on the spot? Why not take your laptop out into the garden and have a run around outdoors? By the way, this not a leisurely jog – this is full-on, proper Running! Run against the clock or up to two other blobos and see who’s the next Usain Bolt! Put blobo in your pocket, as deep as possible. Run around lifting your knees as high and as fast as you can. The game will know if you’re not trying hard enough and will tell you to lift your legs higher. |
